Mama

Mama Mary

Cook
Mama Mary seems to spend ALL DAY cooking for our hungry gang! She is a mentor to the girls, sleeping next door to their dormitory and a fabulous cook producing such wonderful lunches and dinners every day. But, she is not alone, part of being a student at KFI means helping Mama Mary every day with food preparation and cleaning of the house. top

Mzee

Mzee Damas

Day guard
Darmas We were lucky enough to inherit Damas from our landlady, he has been at the house of KFI for many years. Now he makes sure we are safe and sound during the day and that the garden is kept immaculately well. He is also very resourceful in other areas when his help is needed. He is a very important component of the team.
He is also quite a good cook too but, I don’t think Mama Mary lets him near her kitchen! top

Jackson

Jackson

Night guard
Jackson is our Maasai night guard and has the huge responsibility of making sure all students are tucked up and locked in at night and probably makes sure they are not awake and chatting all night either!
We don’t see much of him during the day as he is sleeping but, we don’t forget he is guarding us at night! He is very much part of the family as we have dinner together before he goes back to his station. top
