First year Students KFI 2014

We are happy to host the first year students who will be starting their journey in film making.  The first exercise we did on Monday 1st September 2014  was to get everyone introduce their colleagues in a creative way whereby they learn to present themselves and to be familiar with each other including their trainers. Our students come from different places in Arusha and around the country.

Presentation Exercise
The exercise involved students reading articles from the newspaper and later picking a paragraph which they make a visual story (collage) by cutting the pictures of the magazine, newspaper and drawings. The exercise aims to empower their visual power in making great compositions that tells a story without using words, as you might know a picture speaks more than a thousand words.

The Kilimanjaro Film Institute (KFI) is an organization that works to empower and educate youth from challenging backgrounds from Arusha and surrounding communities in the audio-visual production and related fields. We partner with local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) who work with youth in selecting our students.
Our vision is to have the students create and develop their own way of making films thereby giving them an opportunity to express themselves as well as starting a career in the film industry.
