Kilimanjaro Film Institute (KFI) is an audiovisual training institute based in Arusha Tanzania, where Tanzanian youth from a challenging background are educated to become film and television makers.

Kilimanjaro Film Institute trains this youth all the aspects of filmmaking, editing, sound design for audiovisual products, creative storytelling, live skills, film- and television production and television journalism.

With the support of KFI, underprivileged youth will have a perspective on study, work and income.

It will offer this youth a voice that will be heard in the Tanzanian society.
The training requires youth to make films and offers youth access to 21st century means of production by providing entry to a universe of educational, technological and economic opportunities.

Every year, KFI provides a new generation of film- and television makers who will benefit and illustrate Tanzanians culture worldwide.

Mama Beatrice is so called mama Ntilie: a “hotel less” woman who sells her food at the market in Arusha, Tanzania.

Her work isn’t regarded as a respectful job. This movie shows how she manages to keep her head up.
